  8.        Many times a software program must be configured prior to being
  9.        actually used. This means that possibly screen colors, type of 
  10.        disk drives, optional accessories such as a mouse or modem, 
  11.        printer types and other features must be activated. Some 
  12.        software programs allow you to configure this information 
  13.        directly within the main program. Other programs prefer that
  14.        you run a separate small "configuration" program first. 
  15.        
  16.        The only useful rule in this case is to read the documentation 
  17.        or at least study the table of contents or index to see if 
  18.        configuration is a necessary step.
